PostSubject: Undying Duty to Humanity   Fri Feb 22, 2013 8:49 pm

Victory V (General's Quarters)
"Ok, camera is rolling. Ahem, this is Commissar Hellborne of the 412th Federation Regiment documenting the life of our current commander in-chief: the Lord General Alexander Sturnn of said regiment. The time is now 07.014.2 centicycles into January 31st 2071. 3,2,1 now". The general nodded to the commissar who had sat next to the camera on a raised stool so he had access to the camera during filming. "Thank you commissar, as stated, I am Lord General Sturnn of the 412th Federation Regiment or if you prefer 'Federal Guard' then you may refer to us such. The regiment is a specialist regiment that employs the use of uncommon weaponry and close combat specialists".
"For those who don't know who I am, I am not widely known by everybody (Although pirates should learn to fear me by now) however you may have seen my face on campaign posters for those exact reasons. My career began 50 years ago when I was 13 however I did not join the Federation until much later, for the years before I was a bounty hunter working on the pay of the Feds themselves. My bio begins on the ravaged earth colony of K2-L (Now a charred husk of what could have been)".
Apparently years after the failed defense of the planet, the pirates failed to enter a valuable research facility that was abandoned during the invasion. During that time the facility grew into disrepair and the facility started to show anomalous problems from within, the Federation had offered a large amount of money for me to have a look at....

K2-L Aftermath (2003)
Sturnn's Gunship had entered orbit around the decayed remains of the once proud earth colony and landed on a landing pad just outside of his intended destination. The ship's door opened to reveal a slender character of an average height. Sturnn walked out of his ship all the while being enveloped in light as his suit formed around him. The suit was the basic trooper suit designed for Sturnn during his time as a bounty hunter with many enhancements. For starters, the suit was a brighter white in sharp contrast to the dull grey colors of the standard trooper suit. The shape was built around the thinness of Sturnn's body. Lastly the rifle normally seen on troopers had been replaced by a smaller laser pistol and small knife utilised by hunters under the employ of the Federation.

((I meant more like how did you want me to have him introduced? sort of, still kind of mentally drowsy, and I can't remember my original meaning TOO well. I was saying, do you want me to start at his landing? With him walking up to Sturnn? With him just plain being in the facility from when Sturnn gets there? That kind of thing.))

Mere (that is how you spell it, right?) seconds after Sturnn touched down and exited his ship, the Vado landed only inches from Sturnn's ship. A figure covered in black suddenly flew out of a hatch on the ship's top, spinning quickly and landing gracefully, carrying a scythe on it's back that had a blade on each end, and was twice as long as any normal one. On the creature's chest over it's heart was a federation symbol etched into the clothing.
((during this time Hailer was working directly in the federation, as a special marine.))

Sturnn turned to see the black figure approach him, had he not noticed the symbol of the federation he would have drawn his weapon upon him and fired. Instead he extended his arm to shake the other's hand. "And you are?" began Sturnn, waiting to shake the unknown creature's hand.

The young man took Sturnn's hand in a firm grip, and shook politely while saying "My name is Hailer. I was requested to help with the investigation of the facility."

Sturnn released his hand and set it to his side and smiled gently. "Glad to have someone along to help, now then here is what we know so far" began Sturnn all the while producing a map of the planet. "This facility is located not far from where 'they' did their handiwork, the most notable aspect of this mission is that we are entering an area untouched by those savages, however this facility has started to show some unknown readings coming from inside and I-- we've been asked to investigate, be prepared for whatever is inside". Sturnn put away the map and brought out his rifle in readiness.

Hailer nods in agreement, taking his scythe from it's place on his back with his right hand, and clenching his left fist as a sphere formed in his grasp. "Go in, investigate, kill all hostiles. Standard." Hailer says, gripping the sphere in his left hand tightly.

Sturnn nodded as well, fitting in a smile before his helmet formed around him. Before them were two massive shutter doors barring entrance to within the facility. "MKVII Raven Type steel blast doors, current standard edition" analyzed Sturnn as he studied them. "Want to do the honours, Hailer?"

Hailer nods politely, then attaches the sphere in his left hand to the space where the doors met, pressing a button on the front to cause it to stick to the spot and priming it for explosion. "Get out of the way quickly, this is going to be a nice boom." Hailer says, moving out of range at the same time.

Sturnn barely avoided the explosion being thrown back a couple of millimeters away from his current position. Now visor down in the dust, he turned on his back and wiped away the dust from his visor and proceeded to pick himself up. He turned to see that the explosion had made a neat circular hole to enter through. "Now that is architecture" mused Sturnn, moving his arm around the flawless circular orifice in the door. "After me then" he continued and proceeded to jump through the hole.

"Oh, be my guest." Hailer says, walking a a leisurely pace towards the hole in the doors, making more explosives and attaching them to a "belt" of sorts he made to hold them, it had two straps that went over his shoulders and connected to the opposite side with attachment points for the explosives. When he reaches the doors he ducks under the top side and steps over the bottom, prepared to kill anything that came at him.
((sorry I took so long responding, I was doing schoolwork.))

Stepping through the broken blast doors, the two were welcomed by... nothing. The hallway was surprisingly empty, devoid of life (and furniture for that matter). Sturnn removed his helmet and scratched his head. "Well, so much for a dramatic entry" began Sturnn. The hallway in question was quite large to say the least and the fact that it was a largely empty room astounded Sturnn. The room was extremely dark however and Sturnn could hardly see into the room (what little there is to see). "I do not like this at all, it's quiet perhaps a little bit too silent" Sturnn continued to say before putting his helmet back on. "Be on your guard" advised Sturnn to Hailer, activating his night visor in his helmet and continued to explore the vast emptiness of the hallway.

Hailer steps next to the wall to the right of the entryway, and puts his hand on it. At that point, any and all lights in the room light up at full power.

Sturnn was caught off guard by the lights turning on and jumped round to face Hailer. The room; now lit up was... still the same, empty and out of context. "Well, that answers one problem" mused Sturnn, turning off his night vision and removing his helmet once more, however no longer needing it, he tossed it aside and it dissolved into light the same way as it had been brought into being. "Now then, onto the next problem... why the hell is this place empty?" asked Sturnn "I mean this is supposed to be some form of welcome hall/"receptionist desk"... right?"

"Maybe. It could also be a trap of course." Hailer says, pointing out another possibility. "You never know." He states. He then makes a small rock and throws it across the hall, sending it skidding along the floor.
((any traps in mind? He's just testing things.))

((Not to worry, I have a something planned and quite soon as well))
"Perhaps" Sturnn answered "But I doubt there would be traps around the biggest room seeing as there is room for maneuverability, still like you say you can never be too careful" he continued. At that moment, his communications array began to flash and, quick to act, activated it. "Ah, I see. It seems that the communications systems present in this facility were kind enough to provide me with a map of this place, we should be able to find our way through this place and I have already pinpointed two areas of interest however they're located separate of each other" Sturnn added pointing at two locations located symmetrically opposite of each other. "Now i'm guessing these two place are where the generator's located that will provide power throughout the facility, that means we will need to operate separate from each other, I trust you are prepared for solo operations?"
((At this point, i'm allowing you to take control of what happens on your side (Traps, Creatures etc.))).

"But of course." Hailer says in a joking tone, bowing at the same time. He examines the map closely, committing the layout to memory and preparing to go either direction.
