(I figured I might as well start this RP. If you want to join, please ask me in my topic in the 'Plan Roleplays forum. Thanks)
(A bit of info about the setup. There is a space pirate station in orbit over SR 388, cloaked and in good condition. There is a planetary base on SR 388. It is currently under construction)
Doak could never remember being this excited. Eagerly he gazed out of the window of the transport. Outside, he saw the pinpoints of light of a starfield, the disk of a burning sun in the distance, and below, what was left of SR 388 rotating with a slow majesty despite the wound it bore. Doak could see plainly the massive crater left from the self destruct of the BSL space station. The resulting detonation of it’s antimatter reactors left one side of the planet completely gouged out. The scar had not even fully healed yet, the angry red glow of lava boiling up from the core of the world could still be faintly seen down on the planet through the banks of gray clouds. The clouds were volcanic ash and smoke, thrown up by the planet’s volcanic bleeding and covering what was left of the planet surface in a drab shroud.
But it was what he didn’t see that was the most important thing to him. He knew that in orbit around the planet, the space pirates had a station of their own. But it couldn’t be seen with human eyes, or even the dedicated scanning equipment the transport bore, thanks to it’s cloaking field keeping it hidden. But he knew it was out there, and he knew he would soon be onboard it. The thought made him excited.
He had been chosen by nothing less than the High Command to accompany this mission! He, a human slave. It was an honor that humbled him, and earned him the congratulations of his commanders and comrades from back on the rebuilt base on Aether. He would miss them, but he was pleased to serve at this new base. High Command had a myriad of reasons for selecting him to be sure. First was his mastery of human languages, and his ability to translate them flawlessly to and from the common space pirate tongue. Second was his skill for figuring out alien technology. The High command expected to find remains of human technology on SR 388, but more importantly, chozo ruins as well. Lastly, there was a base of theirs somewhere down on the planet, specifically designed and built to resist incursions of the mysterious parasites called X. Perhaps the High Command hoped his ingenuity would help in coming up with new solutions to the X containment problem.
Whatever reasons, both explained and hidden, Doak would be pleased to help. It wasn’t everyday that the space pirates took a human amid their ranks on a secret mission. What’s more, the High Command had hinted in their message to him that if he did well on SR 388, that Doak would no longer be a slave. He would be admitted as a space pirate citizen and soldier, with all the rights and responsibilities due to them. Doak was determined to rise to the challenge. He had heard rumors about the dangers of the X, but he had dealt with phazon and metroids before, the X couldn’t be much worse than either of them.

“Give me the ETA,” A deep, booming voice echoed in the command room of the transport. The massive, hulking alien known as Kraid rested on the command station built solely for his incredible bulk. Around him on balconies the space pirates worked at controls and stations controlling various aspects of the ship. Kraid had no controls himself, if he needed to have something done, he would use a voice command, and it would be done. Even as he spoke his latest command, holographic screens sprung into existence before him, displaying the route the transport was taking to the station in orbit around the planet.
“ETA: 15 minutes. The docking sequence will begin momentarily.” An automated voice responded. Kraid nodded, and turned to observe the pirates present. Many of them seemed unsettled by his omnipresent bulk in the command area. Well, they better get used to it. Kraid had used his position as head enforcer to order certain specifications built into the space station and the planetary base. Though a few considered it a waste of resources, Kraid commanded that the main corridors and passages be built large enough to accommodate his huge size. It had been a source of rage that he could not personally oversee the phazon harvesting simply because he was too big to fit into them. He respected the base’s commander Ridely, but after the fall of Tallon IV, and later the corruption of the space pirate homeworld itself, Kraid wondered if his comrade and rival should retire. Kraid was determined not to repeat Ridely’s mistakes.
"Address ship," Kraid commanded. A conformation came up on the screen, showing that the whole ship would hear his next words. "The docking sequence has begun. Make sure you are ready to move out the moment we connect. Inefficiency or delay will not be tolerated."
