The War (pre-metroid, Espera Origin)

Earth, 2016, war was everywhere, and not a single soul was spared it's fiery grip. Children in training camp from the youngest age possible, adults young and old fighting for their lives and the lives of everyone around them. War was a staple of Earth up to this point, the times when war was not raging were few and far between, and when peace did hold sway, war was just waiting to strike; bubbling just beneath the surface, creating strife and hatred, fuel for the fire that burned in all hearts. But this war was different. This time, there were no factions, it was not man against man, city against city, country against country. Everything boiled down to one simple law. US against THEM. Humanity was united for the first time in history, fighting as one force against a foe that would not surrender, and would not die. The beasts; the monsters that had lurked beneath the surface for so many millions of years, billions, trillions. They had remained beneath the surface, burrowed in like a tic, never willing to let go their cling to life, no matter what they suffered. They rose up from the ground in the year 2010, and when they did, that day marked the change of life on Earth for all days to come, for though it was two years before the fighting began, war was declared on that day. War on all humans, not one could be allowed to live, and they had the power to make it so. Those who could stand against the beasts were fewer and farther between than could be measured, and the only predator of the creatures was long dead, except in the home of a young boy who had contact with the years far forward.

(I uh...don't know where else to go with this, I kind of just set the stage as much as possible, that enough to work with for now? we could start in the future if you want.)

Talon looked around as he was suddenly transported into the past in an explosion of electric energy, appearing in a crouched position in his power suit, looking on at the battle happening around him, scanning the humans and beasts as he slowly stood up and cleaved a beast in half with his high frequency sword. He had no clue what was going on, but what he got was that the beasts were the bad guys and the humans were the good guys in this situation.

Both side, human and beast, stop when Talon appears out of nowhere, shocked by this strange occurrence. Talon would see several hundred hounds, but only a few dozen humans on the battlefield, most covered in wounds and blood, some nearly dead on their feet. To the southwest of where Talon appeared, surrounded by hounds stands Espera, staring at the scene for only a few seconds before grabbing one of the beasts and spinning, knocking away the others before jumping over the crowd and shooting down several beasts in rapid succession with his handguns and then landing only a few feet away from Talon. While surprised at the appearance of this person whom he thought only a character on the forums he roleplayed on, he was not paralyzed with surprise like those around them were. Luckily for him and his fellows, they were used to odd things happening by now, and recovered quickly, aiming their lead-launchers at the beasts and raining fire on them, killing equal to their number before the hounds recovered from their shock and began attacking again.

Talon grinned under his visor, grabbing a beast that jumped at him and stabbing it through the neck, pulling his pistol and shooting another one out of midair, spinning it and turning toward a third one, blowing its head off with a nova beam shot. Kicking the beast off his blade, he grabbed yet another that pounced at him, crushing its face into the ground. "These things are fun!" he said, grabbing one with his leash beam and slamming it into a group of them with a crunching noise.

While he was still close to Talon, Espera said "we need to talk later." and then returned to shooting the "hellhounds" with his pistols, using the shotgun form whenever one got too close for comfort. Depending on how closely he observed Espera, he may notice that there are certain...differences about him from how he is in the future, he seems more quiet and reserved now, and in the future he is never so single minded about combat; on top of that, the way he is fighting is more business-like than combat like he usually engages. His slaughter of the hounds is systematic, soulless, without care of how it happens; in the future he has always fought like fighting was either art or a game to have fun in, but this fighting shows no similarities to his normal style, no source material for the way he fights later; just killing- methodical- like it's just something that needs done and nothing more.

Talon blinked a bit as Espera said that, then realized who it was. Confused as to how he got here, he just sorta shrugged. A hellhound pounced him, knocking him to the ground. In a quick motion, he activated his wrist-blade, ramming it into the beast's neck and letting the blood splatter all over his armor.

Espera was working with his fellows, slowly whittling down the Beast's forces, filling them with hot plasma and often killing multiple with a single shot due to the plasma function his pistols had back then. Most often any hound that got close to him was met with a face full of plasma buckshot, blasting it back and frequently in half, but one hound managed to get to close for him to activate the shotgun form of his pistols, and nearly managed to pounce him to the ground. unfortunately for the hound in question, Espera was a master at hand to hand combat, and countered with a double roundhouse kick, followed by grabbing the hound by the neck before it could be sent flying very far and slamming it to the ground. He did the only sensible thing at that point: he drained it of it's bio-energy, quickly reducing it to a statue of dust and "ash", before returning to firing upon the hounds ahead of him.
(sorry I took nearly two weeks for this, I was having a severe case of writers block, and REALLY didn't know what to do.)

Talon looked around at the men. "How many of these things are there?" he asked as he charged at one that was charging at him, activating his speed booster and stopping right before he would impact the beast, sending all the momentum into his leg and kicking it with enough force to send it flying straight through a group of the beasts, killing them instantly.

Espera notices Talon activating a speed booster and wonders to himself where a space pirate would get access to chozo technology, but he is attacked by one of the hellhounds before he can ponder much. Another of the youthful soldiers who was standing not far off shoots the hound off of Espera before it can do anything major to him, but in the time it takes to kill the hound on Espera, another one from the crowd is able to get close to him. the hound does not strike him, or bite him, or anything that might make sense in combat, the hound EATS him, grabbing him by the legs with it's jaws and then swallowing him in one gulp, leaving no sign of his presence outside of his rifle and combat knife.
