Ixus' new mission

Ixus had sat himself down at a table that, surprisingly, was still standing and untouched by most of the destruction that had come to this place. The hunter was studying the data pads, curious about what knowledge they contained. He began to put two and two together about the weapon and slowly lowered the final one, after about two to three hours of reading. He stood and said, "Hmph...so is that how he wants to play? Well, we'll see about that, won't we? No weapon is going to be created from your nonsense..."

The information from Talon's scans seemed to indicate that the parts were for a powerful weapon. He, hiding behind a corner and looking at the table Ixus was sitting at, scanned the rest of the datapads. Talon, after reading them, thought of keeping the parts for himself, or at least taking them for the Space Pirates, instead of letting Ixus take them back to his employer. He started to slowly pull out his weapon.

Ixus was hardly planning on taking them for himself. In fact, when he rose up, he brought his rifle to the vial, the truly necessary component of the weapon and pulled the trigger, obliterating it and the liquid rather harmlessly. He then aimed his gun over at where he suspected the hunter would be, saying, "Alright, come and take me if you can. But I warn you, I will not make myself easy prey."

Talon fired at Ixus without thinking, a rather stupid decision as the shot hit another one of the components, destroying it. He swore in Space Pirate as he dove into cover behind a low wall. At least he still had the datapads downloaded into his logbook. He hoped the components weren't extremely rare.

Ixus had rolled behind cover before peeking out, waiting for his enemy. He was hoping that, eventually, he'd have enough left over money to be able to grab himself some radar equipment. It would make fights like these SO much easier. This guy had radar stuff, Ixus reminded himself. He would have to fight Talon in a way that didn't rely on hiding and sneaking, but rather using cover often and doing his best in a gunfight.

Talon fired several shots at Ixus's cover before jumping over, running toward another low wall and sliding back into cover. He aimed carefully this time, trying to destroy as little components as possible.

"Hmph, like a few petty shots are going to stop me," Ixus muttered, readying his gun again as he waited. He then popped out, firing a few shots at the cover he had hard Talon move to and then ducking behind a pillar. His plan was to work his way back to the exit.

"It's not you I'm after," Talon said as he jumped over the low wall, charging at Ixus's cover position and leaving himself completely open, hoping that the sheer lack of logic in that tactic would surprise him enough, or at least that he would survive the wounds so he could regenerate.

"Hmph, someone is an amateur here," Ixus said, not knowing what things this man had up his sleeve. He fired three well placed shots, aiming at the head of the running hunter.

Talon dropped to the ground, sliding under the shots and firing about five of his own shots at Ixus as he slid past, getting up and switching his weapon to its blade setting, a dark blue blade suddenly materializing from the weapon.

"Oh, like that's fair," Ixus muttered before morphing into his form and gliding away from the hunter at a quick rate, intentionally going over the components, slicing them well also gliding up a vertical wall a short ways, enough for him to morph out, grab the top and fling himself over the high wall.

Talon tried to follow, punching the wall. The wall was weak and old enough, so the punch caused a large hole in the wall as he ran through, thinking about sending a call to his employer that he had failed his mission, but realized that he could see through his interface so he probably already knew.

"Well, some hunter you're turning out to be. First you let him destroy the key component, then you destroy some other key ones and now you fail to catch him, a lesser hunter than yourself! What...a disgrace! I'm giving you one more chance. Find him and kill him, do not let him escape Bryyo! Or I will kill you myself!" Talon heard in his head from the employer, who was obviously outraged at the turn of events.

Ixus kept running, sprinting as fast as he could before turning away from the bridge. He knew of a roundabout way to get back to his ship. It was going to be a FAR longer roundabout but it would allow him to get there, at least. The area he reached was where Samus once had to traverse using ice missiles across spouts of super hot fuel gel. There was no longer any fuel gel spouting out, so he was safe to leap between the walls and reach the end of the tunnel to start running again. He knew that Talon wouldn't be far behind...

"I'd like to see you try," Talon said coldly as he muted his comm channel, annoyed with his employer. He almost wanted to let Ixus go to see what he would do, but decided to chase Ixus anyway. After all, he did destroy the rest of the components that Talon was going to return to the Space Pirates. He proceeded to follow Ixus quickly, his weapon switched back to beam mode and firing at him.

Ixus turned and fired back as he ducked behind a corner, Talon's shots only barely missing him. Ixus didn't stop, feeling that it was better to keep running rather than stay. The other hunter's suit had something that allowed him to see Ixus no matter where he was, so he had to keep on the move or risk being killed by the enemy.

Talon ducked most of the shots in a quick motion, one of them grazing his left shoulder. He ignored the pain as he jumped across the former fuel gel place, following Ixus quickly and firing several shots. He was prepared for a fight with his employer's followers; he seemed one of those "You have outlived your usefulness" types, which Talon had dealt with before.
