Character name: Melissa Hunter

Appearance: Melissa, more commonly know as Mel or her codename Huntress, has shoulder length blonde hair that is normally in a ponytail or down with the bangs held back to prevent her hair from getting in the way. She has vibrantly green eyes and rather pointy ears that give her a sort of elvish appearance. She has really red lips that are quite thin and her skin colour is quite pale but the red lips and rosy cheeks give her face some colour. Her eyebrows are the same colour as her hair and her eyelashes are tipped with blonde, making them look slightly shorter than they actually are. Her nose is pointed, but not to the point of making her look like a witch and it is also quite thin. Her cheekbones are rather angular, giving her face a chiseled look. Surprisingly, Melissa's skin is absolutely flawless, though this may be due to the fact it isn't her real face and she can probably get rid of pimples using her shapeshifting abilities.

It's true, this is not Melissa's true face nor is it her true name. Her true name is unknown to her, due to having amnesia upon waking from a coma; however, her true face is known to both her and a few select people. Her true form is near identical to that of the famous Gandrayda, both having the same purple hue and translucent appearance; however, Melissa's face is completely blank with no features whatsoever. She is able to talk in this form, but not through a mouth nor through telepathy, through unknown means. The reason Melissa tends not to use this form is that it freaks people out; however, her abilities are strongest in this form, due to being her true Jovian form.

Melissa's normal clothing generally consists of a generic military uniform; a green, long-sleeved army jacket, opened to create a v-neck, with a red t-shirt underneath. From the waist down she wears grey jeans and a pair of black combat boots. She also wears an earpiece and carries two holsters for her handheld energy blasters, a sheathe for her energy swords, and a utility belt for her energy discs. Her normal, everyday clothing consists of a t-shirt, varying in colour, and jeans, either blue, black, or brown. She normally wears her combat boots, but sometimes wears a pair of converse instead. She wears silver stud earrings and a pearl necklace her mother gave her. Just in case of an ambush or emergency, she always carries one of her blasters and one of her energy swords. The sword and its sheathe are hidden underneath a jean jacket, matching the colour of her jeans, and the blaster and its holster are hidden inside her jeans.

Personality: Melissa is, on a normal day, a very sweet, outgoing girl. She loves to meet new people and loves to hang out with friends as well. She is a pure thrill seeking, adventure junky and can normally be found hanging out on a rooftop, enjoying the skyline. Either that or she'd be out on a mission or exploring a random planet. Melissa also loves taking risks and often does them without thinking of the consequences; she enjoys living life on the edge which can cause troubles in battle. However, despite taking risks and not thinking of the consequences, Melissa is quite clever when battling and is great when put on the spot. She can easily maneuver her way out of nearly every situation, especially with her abilities at hand.

Along with her bright, cheerful side, Melissa also has her dark side like everybody else. This normally comes out during a mission, battle, or when she's just in a bad mood. She becomes quite cold and quiet. She rarely makes a sound, especially when being stealthy, and is always paying attention to her surroundings. She is not easily sneaked up on unless she is in the midst of a battle or tricked by someone, which doesn't happen often. Melissa is not exactly trusting, though she makes herself seem as though she is. She often acts like she has told someone everything just to get them to believe she has her full trust in them. She does this because her past has been full of betrayal and this is to test if she can really trust them by feeding them false information.

Other:  Melissa is able to use her Jovian abilities in any of her forms to a limited degree.
Shapeshifting -- Melissa is able to alter her physiology to replicate anybody she chooses. She can also retain a portion of their abilities, Samus' Charge Beam, Morph Ball, and other abilities. She is unable to use any ability that requires ammo however, such as Samus' missiles or Power Bombs, though she is able to use Morph Ball bombs and other abilities like the Speed Boost, Shinespark, and Space Jump. When in her Battle Suit, Melissa is only able to morph two parts of her body at a time. For example, both of her legs or both of her arms but not all four. So she could have Samus' Gun in both her hands or have the ability to use Samus' Space Jump
Phasing -- This is an offset of Melissa's Shapeshifting. Through changing her molecular structure as if she were shapeshifting, Melissa is able to move, or 'phase', through  virtually anything. This is only temporary and cannot last forever though. The longest this can last is long enough to get her through a five foot thick wall when running. This ability requires a lot of concentration currently though through using it she can dodge virtually any attack. When in her battle suit, Melissa can only phase two body parts at a time, same as if she were shapeshifting.
Equipment: Dual Energy Swords -- Two purple swords that when she strikes someone with them they get a short burst of electricity, temporarily paralyzing them. Can be used to short-circuit technology.
Dual Energy Blasters -- Two purple pistols that can be set to either stun or kill. Stun temporarily paralyzes people and can short-circuit technology. Can charge to deliver stronger blast that radiates outwards five feet and paralyzes victims longer.
Dual Energy Discs -- Two purple disc-like shurikens that have purple energy arcing between the blades to make them appear like actual discs. Can home in on targets but still easily avoidable by quick movements. When struck by one, temporarily paralyzes enemies and short-circuits technology. Can be recalled.

All of Melissa's weapons are made out of Jovian steel from her home planet.

Character History: Melissa was born on the planet Jovia XII to a Jovian and Human. Her dad was a Galactic Federations officer while her mother was a native Jovian. Now, Melissa is a one-of-a-kind because she is the only half-human half-jovian in existence which is why her normal, no-face form is so messed up; however, thanks to her metamorphic abilities, Melissa is able to correct the no-face part of her so that she looks normal. Anyway, when Melissa was born, her mother was not at all worried about the way she looked. She loved her child no matter what; however, her father was different and wanted to exterminate Melissa at her birth, calling her a monstrosity. Melissa's mother didn't allow it though and thus stood in his way, which caused Melissa's father to do something rash.

At the age of only two, Melissa's homeland was invaded by Space Pirates. There was a lot of death but not enough to land Melissa's race extinct. The Pirates were sent by Melissa's father and their main objective was to exterminate Melissa and her mother, erasing the mistake of Melissa's father. However, Melissa's mother was clever and used her abilities to disguise both her and Melissa as Space Pirates, claiming to have been held captive. For four years, Melissa and her mother lived with the Space Pirates, disguised as them. Until one day, the Pirates base was raided by the Galactic Federation. Melissa's mother found this time to escape and, while the pirates were fighting the Federation, Melissa's mother revealed herself and asked the Federation soldiers for salvations. Melissa's mother handed over Melissa and they began their trek to the Federation ship.

However, disaster struck on their way back when a Pirate that saw Melissa's mother transform warned others and they ambushed the group heading back to the ship. The Soldiers and Melissa's mom managed to fend them off, but not without them managing to mortally wound Melissa's mother and knocking out Melissa. Melissa woke from her coma a year later in a hospital on Earth. She awoke with no recollection of most of her past, only fragments like what she was and how she got where she was. She couldn't remember her true name so while she was put up for adoption she went under the alias Jane Doe. A year later and she was adopted by the Hunters, an old couple who just lost their daughter Melissa Hunter whom Melissa is now named after. The Hunters saw nothing wrong with Melissa's true form, but when she began school, Melissa's parents told her how she should hide her true form from other people because kids tended to not understand and be quite nasty when it came to how someone looked. So, they showed her a picture of their now deceased daughter, and Melissa transformed into her, understanding that this was for the best.

Seven years later, and at the age of thirteen Melissa decided that she wanted to join the GFA, so her parents enrolled her in a special training academy. Here, Melissa was allowed to roam the halls in her true form without being ridiculed. For the most part though, Melissa stayed in her human form because she had grown fond of how she looked. However, during training, she sometimes had to shift into her true form to develop her powers to their fullest. Eventually thought, Melissa learned how to be able to use her powers while in any form and had developed the ability to 'phase', as she liked to call it.

At the age of eighteen, Melissa joined the Galactic Federation and when she was at her first briefing, she was introduced and asked to turn into her true form. It was their that her father was and upon seeing his daughter, he reached for his gun and tried to shoot her in the head. Luckily, Melissa used her phasing ability to avoid the attack and instead her father was shot and killed on the spot. Nobody knew or knows why he had tried to kill Melissa and it remains a mystery to all. After that, Melissa became a soldier of the Galactic Federation. Two years later though and Melissa decided to instead become a bounty hunter, sometimes taking random missions, exploring the galaxy, helping others on her own. Since she left with the GFA on good terms though, she allowed her to contact her whenever they needed her assistance.

-Battle suit-
Suit Name: Umbra
Suit Type: Chozo Armor (Not nearly as high-tech as Samus')
Weaponry: Can morph body parts into weaponry (Swords, Blasters, etc.) Can also use her normal, energy weapons.
Shielding: Heat and Cold shielding. Anti-gravity shielding (Water and High-grav environments have no effect on her). Dark Energy Shielding (Such as Dark Aether Atmosphere and Ing Attacks). Energy (such as that from her weapons) shielding.

-Alt Form-
Alt Form Name: True Form
Description: This is the form in which Melissa was born. It doesn't come with many added special abilities though it allows her to upgrade her current ones.
Abilities/Weapons: In this form, Melissa can phase indefinitely. She also gains a few psionic abilities.
Telepathy -- In this form, Melissa has the added ability of Telepathy, allowing her to communicate with anyone she chooses. This is how she normally talks to people when in this form due to not having a mouth.
Telekinesis -- Melissa also gains the ability to move moderately sized objects with her mind. The max she has been able to lift weighed half as much as she did and required immense concentration and energy.
Astral Projection -- This ability allows Melissa to project a clone with twice the power that she does. She does not retain any injuries the clone sustains while she controls it. However, use of this ability causes her real body to become unconscious and incredibly vulnerable. Thus, Melissa always hides before using this ability. The clone can also only last for so long and go so far. The max time she can keep this up is ten minutes (three posts) and the max distance the clone can travel away from her is thirty metres.
Cloning -- This is relatively similar to the ability described above except with this one she is able to create multiples while moving at the same time. Using this ability cuts down her other ability capabilities by half though and any harm the clones endure aside from death, she endures half that damage. Discovering this weakness allows an enemy to exploit the real Melissa by harming the clones. During this ability, Melissa normally hides and rests so she can recover from any wounds the clones get.
Regenerative Properties -- In this form, Melissa is able to heal at an alarmingly fast rate when resting. This only works when she is resting. To increase this rate, Melissa can meditate to quicken the rate in which her body rests.

Is this site active 'mod-wise'? Because I really wanna start roleplaying but, based on your topics and stuff, I assume I have to be accepted by a mod and I was just wondering how often they get on.

HE (the main mod who ever comes on and can approve characters) used to get on fairly often, but recently, he has understandably been more often than not absent. the last time he approved a character was in early, really early, June, and that had been submitted close to a month or so prior (I think, my memory is kinda bad). But it is understandable, last I remember hearing, he's been preparing to get married, so kinda makes sense for him to be absent a lot.

edit: It's worse than I remembered, the last character he approved was in mid-April.

Oh you have to wait, sorry, but it's right in the rules. unless rildok (the main-mod) approves, it's no go for RP. and if toasty says that the archives let you RP, it was never discussed when she requested the archives. mainly, I'm the only one that comes on, so that would kind of limit your RP potential, sorry. but, there's a forum game of roleplaying (though it is highly random and has no set storyline) called (appropriately) the random room. You can RP there (albeit, with a lot of randomness in the replies) without an approved character. it just hasn't been touched for a long time at this point. it had a lot of stuff going when it was first put up, though it was mainly just two people doing some of the strangest RP in the world.
